Wilfred J. Lambert

Wilfred J. Lambert, age 82, of Swanwick, IL, passed away Thursday evening, March 27, 2003, at his sons home in Coulterville, IL.

Wilfred was born in Pinckneyville, IL, January 23, 1921, the son of Adam and Margaret (Pabst) Lambert.  He was united in marriage to Florence Kelly in Nashville, IL, May 21, 1949 and she survives.  Wilfred served with the U.S. Army-Airforce during WWII.  He was a farmer and retired in 1983 from IDOT.  Wilfred was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pinckneyville, IL and was a former member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge.

Wilfred is survived by his wife Florence of Coulterville, IL, two sons; John Lambert and his fiance, Rebecca Laird, James Lambert and wife Bridget, all of Coulterville,IL, three daughters; Pamela Beck of Swanwick, IL, Barbara Shubert and husband Mike of Oakdale, IL, and Roberta of Rice, IL, two brothers; Clyde Lambert, Kenneth Lambert and wife Marcella both of Pinckneyville, IL, five sisters; Florence Bender of Crestwood, MO, Helen Flure and husband John of Pinckneyville, IL, Inez Matson and husband Bob of Port Huron, MI, Irene Patterson of Clearwater, FL, and Mildred Holtzman of Independence, MO, twenty one grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.  Wilfred was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harold and Ervin, and a sister-in-law, Pat Lambert.

Funeral services were Monday, March 31, 2003 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pinckneyville, IL at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Howard Self officiating.  Interment will be in the Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.

Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville, IL, Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. and again on Monday morning from 8:00 a.m. till 9:30 a.m. then at the Church from 10:00 a.m. till services.
